Best Digital Nomad Retreats and Coliving Experiences in 2027

Digital nomad retreats have evolved far beyond simply putting a group of remote workers in an attractive destination. The best experiences now combine reliable places to work, comfortable accommodation, community activities and enough flexibility for people to continue doing their actual jobs.

Some focus on business, networking or completing a particular project. Others are built around outdoor adventures, wellness, cultural experiences or bringing digital nomad families together. They can last anywhere from one week to several months and range from affordable community colivings to fully organised international programmes.

This guide brings together some of the best digital nomad retreats, workations and temporary coliving experiences taking place in 2027. We are focusing on programmes designed specifically for remote workers rather than conventional holidays or wellness retreats that happen to provide Wi-Fi.

Because many organisers have not yet published their complete 2027 calendars, this will be a regularly updated guide. New retreats will be added as dates are confirmed, but we will keep the selection curated rather than attempting to include every programme available.

What We Look for in a Digital Nomad Retreat

To be considered for this guide, a retreat should provide more than accommodation and organised sightseeing. We look for experiences offering:

  • Reliable Wi-Fi and suitable places to work
  • A clear community or retreat programme
  • Accommodation designed for an extended stay
  • Transparent dates, prices and inclusions
  • A distinctive destination, theme or experience
  • Evidence that the organisers understand the needs of remote workers
  • Credible reviews or an experienced organising team

Some retreats may also offer workshops, business sessions, fitness activities, local experiences or structured networking. These are valuable additions, but participants should still have enough time and space to manage their normal work commitments.

Are You Organising a Digital Nomad Retreat in 2027?

We are currently accepting submissions from organisers running digital nomad retreats, workations, coliving pop-ups and remote work experiences during 2027.

Submitting Your Retreat is Free. Every submission is reviewed individually, and inclusion is based on its suitability for remote workers and the quality of the information provided.

Organisers can also request information about optional promotional campaigns across the CoWorking Days website, newsletters, social media channels and digital nomad communities. Paid promotion is separate from editorial consideration and does not guarantee inclusion in this guide.

Organisers can also see how one community-led project generated more than 250 applications in our Barcelona coliving campaign case study.

Planning Your Coliving Retreat Trip

Most coliving retreats include accommodation for the official programme dates, but you may still need somewhere to stay before or after the experience.

If you are arriving early, compare hotels, hostels and apartments close to the retreat destination before booking your flights. Staying an additional night can be particularly useful when airport transfers only operate at specific times or the retreat starts early in the day.

Many participants also extend their trip to explore the surrounding area. Booking separate accommodation before or after the retreat gives you more flexibility and can sometimes make international flights significantly cheaper.

For popular destinations and peak-season retreats, it is sensible to reserve your accommodation early, particularly if you want to stay near the retreat venue or share an apartment with other participants.

If you prefer a longer, less structured stay, our guide to the best coliving spaces in Barcelona explains how permanent coliving differs from a fixed-date retreat.

Before travelling, compare the best digital nomad apps for flights, accommodation, mobile data, budgeting and remote work.
